Rick Nash was born on June 16, 1984 in Brampton, Ontario. In June 2002, Rick became part of a very elite group of hockey players when he was selected first overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Rick had a great rookie season scoring 17 goals and finished third in the Calder Trophy voting for Rookie of the Year. In his second season with the Blue Jackets Rick scored 41 goals and became the youngest player in NHL history to lead the league in NHL scoring.
